Thoughtful Thursday

I've pondered about writing this or not. However, since we are discussing prayer and finding your own Identity in Christ,  I thought it might help encourage someone to pray even over the smallest things.  My husband is a truck driver and keeps odd hours.  I won't say his schedule on here because there are too many creepy people around. I do mean creepy.  Anyway, I have been having some car trouble lately.  For the past few months my vehicle wouldn't pick up speed.      I took it to two places that I go regular and like my husband, or any man, really, they said, it was, " all in my head."  So I didn't drive it for a while and then I couldn't handle not going shopping so I decided to get out of the house one day, my car started making funny noises.  After I got my chores in town done that day, I scooted" my vehicle on home.  I got almost home and it started making weirder noises.  I thought well, maybe I should take it to the shop again.  I didn't

Wonderful Wednesday

Job 28  Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it. 2  Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone. 3  He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death. 4  The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men. 5  As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire. 6  The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold. 7  There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen: 8  The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it. 9  He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots. 10  He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing. 11  He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is h

Terrific Tuesday

I know prayer can be a peculiar thing.  Prayer doesn't have to be all that difficult.  God like to hear from us whether it's just a whisper or an hour long conversation.  Being kind of a non-verbal child, I understand how it is when trying to build a conversation.  I mean you couldn't tell, now, cause I tend to talk non-stop.  It's like somebody handed me the relay stick and my mouth just keeps going.  But I'm proud I can talk somewhat normal now.  I went 18 years without ever knowing I even had a cleft palate. I knew something was wrong, but we didn't ever know what.    Upon saying that, God likes to hear from us.  He doesn't need you to write out some long, drawn out prayer card. Some of those are nice but that's not the point here.  God can hear our thoughts, He understands our tears, and He knows how we feel.  We don't have to ask for something every time.  Just saying thank you Lord for my Blessings  is good enough sometimes.  He doesn't li

Motivational Monday

Thinking about God and listening to God are two separate ideas.   Thinking about God is great~but do we actually listen to Him when we ask Him questions?  Do we just think about how He could answer us, or do we really get down and pray? Thing of it is everyone has their own plans, but God also has His as well.  We need to be willing to listen to Him and His clear direction.  God may want us to do certain things, but we need to be willing to wait on His answer.  Sometimes we just jump to conclusions or our own way of handling things and completely miss what He has in store for us.     I have to say, I have been guilty of this very thing.  I think everyone might have been guilty of not waiting on God's timing.  God's timing is very important.  We need to be willing to allow God to help us in our situations. Listening to clear direction sometimes will mean whether we sink or swim.  God knows what we can handle and what we can't, after all, He is the one who created us.  He

Fantastic Friday

Acquainted with the Night            Robert Frost I have been one acquainted with the night. I have walked out in rain - and back in rain. I have outwalked the furthest city light. I have looked down the saddest city lane. I have passed by the watchman on his beat And dropped my eyes, unwilling to explain. I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet When far away an interrupted cry Came over houses from another street, But not to call me back or say good-bye; And further still at an unearthly height, One luminary clock against the sky Proclaimed the time was neither wrong nor right. I have been one acquainted with the night.                            Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.   Deuteronomy 31:6 Prayer-- Dear Lord,  You gave me the courage I needed to get through the week. Help me Lord, not to fear failure because You go with me every

Thoughtful Thursday

Is it just me or does Thursday always seem to be one of those days that creep up on you unaware?  I usually get most of my chores done by Thursday but then again I work on them a little each day so I won't have so much to do on the weekends.  You might not believe me but it really helps to have a certain cleaning schedule.  I know that is preached a lot , but it has helped me tremendously.  This morning, as I fried some steak for lunch, I flipped through a SunBasket recipe book. I love that subscription! I think that's one of the best thing we have ever ordered.  They send you the right amount of everything you need.  As I glanced through the book, I thought about how God's Word is indeed a recipe book for our daily lives.  How can anyone go without picking up the Bible?  After watching the beautiful Eclipse, how can anyone be atheist?  I even heard some of them say, they wished they did believe in God.  I thought, well, why don't you? As I did all this, my cat was
Wonderful Wednesday   Wednesdays have to be my most favorite day of the week.  Wednesdays allow my mind to step back and look what I have accomplished and what still needs to be finished.  Wednesdays are a resting point for me.  It allows me to catch my breath.  In the mornings,  I like to wake up a little earlier in order to just sit there and find my own breath.  In doing so,  I can better concentrate on the other chores at hand.  Wednesday is also our trash" day and as I  took our trash down to the road, it reminded me I need to just forget the negative and really concentrate on the things I can do.  I need to put all my gifts in one place and that way I will have more strength to praise God.       As most of you know by now, we have two rather huge cats that live with us.  Oftentimes, they will bring us gifts" Luckily, these gifts are only toys and not dead animals, but this also reminded me that we, as Christians should bring God gifts. I can Imagine that  It make

Terrific Tuesday

The Priority Principal Priority according to dictionary.com  means  the right to take precedence in obtaining certain supplies, services, facilities, etc., especially during a shortage. In life, we all must set priorities.  Not only must we set priorities, we must decide which priorities" will help us succeed.  Making lists help me tackle tasks but they also help me visualize my priorities. “A morning-glory at my window satisfies me more than the metaphysics of books.” ― Walt Whitman Establish a base point and determine what your strengths and weaknesses are.  Don't compare to others,  God gave us each a special" light to shine....we need to shine it. Once picking the top priorites,  keep your focus on those priorites and the others will fall in place. Age doesn't matter here, but, according to Nature, we each get older every day, so learning to set priorites when we are young will make a difference on how we achieve o

Motivational Monday

Friday we spoke about finding your Identity in Christ.  Finding your Identity in Christ is so important.  You must let others know where you stand concerning religion and doctrine.  Stand firm on God's Word and trust Him.  He will make a way for you to conquer your battle of fear and anxiety.  The more people get to know you and how you feel about certain things, the quicker that they can relate to you and your situation.  By doing this, I have learned that you do not have to tell all your business, they will begin to know the basics and not ask as many questions.  Finding your Identity in Christ is important, but finding your own Identity in general is also important.    Everyone must find their purpose" in life.  I say that so much, but it's true.  Everyone must learn how to spread" their own wings but they also must know how far to spread their wings as well.  It's true that we can do all things through Christ, but sometimes the trouble of it is, is findi

Fantastic Friday

Finding your Identity in Christ is a more difficult task than one might think it is. Well,  I won't speak in general, I'll be a little more specific. There are typically two types of people in the world, those who have high self-esteem and those who have very low self-esteem.             Some people are a mix, they do not know exactly which personality or characteristic to have on a regular basis. Have you ever seen a chameleon?  You know those little creatures that change colors according to their surrounding?                       These people, to a certain extent, annoy me, constantly changing to adapt to their situations.  You never know exactly what to say to them, or how to react to their responses.  That's just me though,  I love everyone.  It's just I think you should learn how to Identify yourself earlier on in life.           Let people know where you stand and not afraid to shine your light. You never know who is watching.  Everyone is no

Thoughtful Thursday

A bird came down the walk: He did not know I saw; He bit an angle-worm in halves And ate the fellow, raw. And then he drank a dew From a convenient grass, And then hopped sidewise to the wall To let a beetle pass. He glanced with rapid eyes That hurried all abroad,- They looked like frightened beads, I thought; He stirred his velvet head Like one in danger; cautious, I offered him a crumb, And he unrolled his feathers And rowed him softer home Than oars divide the ocean, Too silver for a seam, Or butterflies, off banks of noon, Leap, splashless, as they swim. Emily Dickinson

Wonderful Wednesday

Six things Doth the Lord Hate These six things doth the Lord hate;yea, seven are an abomination. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in turning to mischief. A false witness that speaketh lies and he that soweth discord among brethren. My son keep thy father's commandment and forsake not the law of thy mother: Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. When thou goest, it shall lead thee, when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee. For the commandment is a lamp, and the law is a light; and reproofs of instructions" are the way of life.   Proverbs 6: 16-23 Chinese Proverb: Better to light a candle than to curse the  darkness . Cat's Menu   I eat what I wish-- It's a matter of taste. Whether liver or fish, I eat what  I wish. Putting scraps in my dish Is a terrible waste. I eat what I wish It's a matter of taste.                                                                           Richard Shaw         We need to be more decisive. Well, I need to be more focused on my goals.  I often have a plan or something to guide me along the way, but like the cat in Mr. Shaw's poem, I like to eat what I want.  It does not matter if it is good for me or not, I like food.  I will even happily eat left overs.  Thankfully my husband will eat left-overs as well.   I mean  I don't just throw them in the fridge, I think they outta look a bit nice.  I mean would you eat left-overs if they were just thrown in the same bowl?  I have heard some wives complain  ,' OH,' he won't eat left-0vers...I have to cook every night.  Well maybe, it's the way you prepare it.

Motivational Monday

Little Things  Little things, that run, and quail,   And die, in silence and despair!    Little things, that fight, and fail,   And fall, on sea, and earth, and air!   All trapped and frightened little things,   The mouse, the coney, hear our prayer !   As we forgive those done to us, ---The lamb, the linner, and the hare---    Forgive  us all our trespasses,    Little creatures, everywhere !  The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord .  " Isaiah 65:25 Prayer-- Lord, help me realize that one day,  all these burdens will be taken away. Help me take each day at a time.  Lord, also help me realize when I need to forgive and when I need to just step away from the situation.  Learning to forgive is always the next step forward.  Help me always remember that sometimes it's the little thing

Fantastic Friday

Then the word of the Lord came unto me saying, Before I formed thee in the womb, I knew thee and before thou camest out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, ah, Lord God !  I can not speak for I am a child. But the Lord said, say not, I am a child for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee and whatsoever I command thee, that shall thou speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, said the Lord. Then the Lord put forth His hand, and touched my mouth.  And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put words in thy mouth.    Jeremiah 1:4-9     This Scripture is so comforting.  It reminds me that God knew me before I was formed.  He knew the plan He had for me.  I know I may not be able to accomplish much on my own, but I know I can do anything with His help and guiding hand.  God knew that we all would have our struggles but He also knew that one day that there would be rest.

Thoughtful Thursday

Thursday means the week is almost finished. Funny how sometimes you get finished with your goals and some still linger around for the next week.  I am reading a book about Cat Stories that I found at a yard sale.  It is a collection of stories about cats and some happen to be written "by cats," lol.  It's a cute book. It's a thick book but I think I"ll manage to get through it cause it is about cats.  I love all animals but cats have always been my favorite for some reason.     I think it is because cats just do whatever they want, however, they seem to always be polite about it. Even if it is a negative response they seem to respect their owners, that is, if you hand out treats every time they do that little annoying meow.  It's okay.  I have learned alot from my cats.  When I first brought Sophie home, the second cat,  she loved it, but Anna was kind of territorial at first and still is, but she allows" Sophie to live here.  Well, in fact, she &qu

Terrific Tuesday

Monday is over.  Tuesday is still in existence.  Are you making plans for tomorrow? the rest of the week perhaps?  It's good to take a minute and rest and reflect on the previous day.  Get it all out of your system.  Tuesday is great for that kind of thing. Use Tuesday to gain even more positive energy for the rest of the week. Have you encouraged anyone to keep motivated today?  Remember from the last post,  when we talked about starting out the day on a positive note.  That usually goes for how you start out your week as well.  Tuesday is a great pick-me-up kind of day for me.  I love Monday and Tuesday for that reason because it gives you a fresh start.  It is def a difficult task to stay focused sometimes, but with a plan it can be done.      I have learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances."   Martha Washington Who has measured the waters in the h0llow of His hand, or wi

Motivational Monday

How do you start your day?    I have come to the conclusion that how you start your day is typically how it will end.  Sometimes that is not true, but mostly is.  I see so many with a grumpy face.  It may backfire on me, but these are the ones who I make the most effort in trying to be cheerful.  It really upsets them for some reason.    No, I'm not extreme about it, but I do wonder how people live without Jesus in their lives. With so much negativity,  How do they get through their day?  They really can't be happy.  I've had some question my happiness.  That's okay too, but did you know that being sad actually makes you age faster?  It's true.    I always have gotten remarks on how young I look.  It used to bother me, but now I am grateful.  I try to remember that This Too Shall Pass"  and go on with my day.  People aggravate me about not using foul language or going to church but for some reason that just makes me happier to be a Christian.   I'm gl

How to have Quiet Time with God 1.  First, you must pray and ask God to send you a quiet time.  Let Him tell you what the best time of the day is. 2.  Then, you must arrange the rest of your day around the quiet time that is meant for Bible Study.      (God wants your full attention.) 3.  Focus on studying the Bible.  Turn off the T.V., turn off the computer, and put AWAY the cellphones.  Remember again,  God wants your full attention. 4.   Keep a notebook or journal to write any thoughts or prayer lists you might have.   I will film a video later on how to keep a prayer" journal.  I know you know this,  but it  just helps to be inspired. 5.   Pray about what Scriptures to study and take any notes that you might want to remember later.      ( I forget easily.)                      Remember, each day is a gift.  Like Crocheting a blanket or scarf, each stitch is needed.  I  love to crochet it keeps my mind off things that otherwise I would ponder all day long.  I

When it is sunny and bright outside, " Keep on the Sunnyside," always comes to mind : The Sunshine always makes me feel better.   Even if the sun isn't shinning, singing a song like this makes the day go by faster.   There's always a reason to smile. Remember God loves you and so do I .  "  Hope you have had a great day so far.   This is the day which the  Lord  hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Psalm 118:24 #asalways#beblessed

Watercolor Wednesday

Sometimes it is so easy to loose site of our direction.  We need to do everything we can to stay focused on the true reason we are here.  We are here to serve others and not to taunt them.  Why do we suffer?  I am not sure on the clear answer to that question.  Everything is to God's glory though.  Everything has a purpose and a reason.  It maybe to keep us from something worse.     I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but that you may live in a right way in undivided  devotion to the Lord.   1 Corinthians 7:35                                        Haiku poem I wrote about a bird taunting a cat....                                                                                                                                                    "Silly Cat"                                                                    Where did I go cat?                                                              Can't you see me here sil
