Shop till ya drop

Lately I have been going to drugstores to shop for household items and have been saving some money to put toward other bills. I am so excited! I will never pay retail price for those items again. I am talking about laundry detergent, toilet paper, toothbrushes and cleaning supplies. I feel silly shopping at drug stores for those kind of items, but I don't feel silly when I see what the final total is. There is nothing that excites me more than to help save a few dollars.   I don't know of anyone right now who couldn't afford to save some money on their bills, especially at Christmas time! Christmas time is difficult for more people than you might realize. It depresses some and that shouldn't be,but it's so true.  When you find items really cheap on your next shoppping trip, try to think of a person who could really use those products. It might be an older person or a younger person in college that doesn't have much money to spend.  You would be surprised at ho

watching the world go by

The grass isn't always greener on the other side.  No matter which side of the fence you live, there are always going to be problems and milestones to encounter. Everyone dreams under the same stars, whether they are normal, handicap, disabled, or just fine.  Sometimes it's better just to be who you are and not try to blend in with everyone else. The crowd doesn't always have the right answer either. Sometimes they are hiding something they are ashamed of when they badger you.  Don't let it stop you from enjoying your own life. Try to do everything you can to better it, but don't let them push you out of existence. The trouble is not worth your time.   If people really love you, they will accept your disability or whatever it maybe that you are keeping from them.  Sometimes a disability is visible, sometimes it isn't. God gave it to you to prove His love to you in some way that only you can tell it was from Him. Not anyone everyone goes through the same proble

"think about your thoughts"

There are so many articles written on judging others but I don't think the subject can be reiterated enough. People don't think before they say the words that are jumbling around in their heads. Everyone have emotions no matter who they are. It's not enough that media emphasizes bullying but will it ever be stopped?     Please think before you speak your thoughts out loud.Even if you are just talking under your breath, people could still be offended.  I know some people that have said some hurtful words about me thinking I couldn't hear them, but I really did. However, I didn't confront the person about it cause it was no use. I was taught not to stoop down to the bullies level. I've had a hard time in life, but not like some others.    The regular human being has feelings not matter who they are. If you are hosting a yard sale, for example, you shouldn't whisper behind the customers back when they turn away and walk to their car. It's not polite an

coupon journey

I have started a journey with coupons. I am always amused at the faces I get when people see all the coupons in my hand. I have reached "Extreme Coupon" status yet, but slowly getting things for free or "on the cheap." There is nothing that could please me more than to get my groceries for pennies like some people do. I have learned that you can stack store coupons with Sunday paper coupons and get paid to take the item off the shelf.   It isn't easy and it's very time consuming. I like to share my deals and "free" deals with my friends and family.  I have even started doing the surveys on the back of restaurant receipts and receiving free food! I love to save money. I wouldn't say that I am a tightwad, I just like to be frugal. If you can save a little money to put up for something else, it's a win win situation.    I don't buy things that I don't need, just like to get the things I do need at a bargain price! There's noth

Work At Home or Not

It is so frustrating to find work these days. It seems like people discriminate over the smallest issues. It's not fair in some ways for people who desire to work. It seems like they are the ones who can't find a job anywhere. Things seem backward. It is discouraging when you walk away from an interview thinking you have got the job, and a week later you receive a denial letter in the mail. What is one to do when you need extra income? Find ways to work at home, make your own schedule, and get customers to come to you, seem like the obvious answer, but is it?    It is difficult to find online work as well as in a public place, especially if you have a minor setback that is only visible to those who look deep enough.  When you start your own business, then you invite people in your own home, however the case maybe. There is no simple solution to the question mentioned above.  Some say the answer is to go get a degree in the field you wish to work. Then you have another probl

Be Careful How You Treat Others

There is a word that I do not like hear voiced in a negative way. That word is "retarded." The word can be offensive when took out of context. As a child, I was the movie Bambi. In the cartoon there is a rabbit named Thumper. Thumper coined the phrase, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." I have learned to live by that rule, but some people obviously haven't seen the movie. I understand that some words have to be used to diagnose a person, but please be careful in how you use the term.    There is nothing more offensive than to be called "retarded," Especially when you only have mild conditions that don't even represent the definition of the word. I have been called retarded, and have heard people use the word without thinking what they were saying. Others are just rude and inconsiderate of other people's feelings. Either way, please think about how you sound when you say something to another person. Would y

raindrops keep fallin on my head"

Lately it seems like raindrops keep falling on my head. Deep down inside I know that God has a special plan for eveyone, including me, I just haven't found mine yet.  For some reason, writing about problems help me to vent a little bit and the stress goes away for a little while.  Who knows, maybe that is God's plan for me to help someone through my writing skills. If that is the case I pray that He will open many doors for me in the future.     Every dream I seem to look forward is to far to reach and they shatter into pieces. Knowing that God will always be there, helps me not to give up on life. As I stated in an earlier blog post, God is my strength my help in time of need. I go to Him and the pain seems to go away for a season. It is then a special Scripture is brought to mind, I Corinthians 10:12, " this too shall pass. " That Scripture always bring a certain peace to my heart.    Too much stress is not good for anyone, especially when health problems are pr

God wants you to keep smiling !

God said in His Word that He would never, ever put on us anything we could not handle.  However, problems seem like they overwhelm us sometimes.  It does not matter what we think about the situation, God knows what will make us stronger and He also knows our make up because after all, He is the very One who created each and every one of us.  He designed a certain plan for His children if we will listen and obey His Word our lives will be so much better.  We make it harder on ourselves by trying to do what we want in life.  If we will take time to listen to the voice of God, life will not be a bed of roses, but we will be able to think much more positively on our daily tasks.    Many people have a retirement plan that comes along with whatever job they might have. which is a good idea if you can find that with your workplace.  Needless to say, with or without a retirement plan here on Earth, Christians have a far better place in Heaven, the best "Retirement Plan," ever! It

faith, not religion

Too many times we get stuck in our own ruts, thinking that this is pleasing to God.  When, honestly, nothing is worse than being stuck in a certain religious routine.  God does wants us to worship Him in all things we do or say.  There is a song I like to sing called, " You Never Mentioned Him to Me." In this song the writer, James Rowe,  warns us as Christians to always be a witness to our friends and family because if we don't, their blood will be on our hands come judgment day.     Judgment Day will be a day when all our works will be laid out  before God. We will be judged for what we do and obviously don't do while here on Earth. The only thing we can take to Heaven with us is someone else. If we don't listen to the spirit our blessings will surely be given to someone else and that will be no one else's fault but our own.  We might not all be preachers, or singers, or teachers, but we all can pray and always be kind to others as we meet them on their

Exercise Your Gifts !

Sometimes the Devil will try to tell you that Your gifts are not important. He will try to emphasize that other people are better or more popular than you.  In reality, analytics do not matter to God.  He does not need you but created you for His glory and if we do not exercise our gifts He will take them away from us completely.  It does not matter if someone likes or dislike your music or song, what matters is God's approval.  He created us and all other things for praising Him.  I know its been said before but if we do not obey Gods calling, the rocks will cry out and we in turn will miss a blessing that was meant to be ours.    Obeying God is something we, personally have to be able and willing to do on our own.  No one else is fitted to receive the blessing God created for you as an individual.  It is hard to keep in mind sometimes, but we were created to Worship God, not to gain achievements for ourselves.  If we press to always be like Jesus, then we are fulfilling God'

comparing apples to oranges....

The devil will try to influence our thoughts in many ways.  There's so many role models or higher up individuals that young girls and women long to follow. Their image is so beautiful and indeed easy to be discouraged by when you let your mind set idle.  It is not healthy for us however, to constantly drool over things that were not to be ours in the first place.    God knew His plans for us long before we were even born and that makes me feel special.  He knew every step of the way before we even knew the trail existed.  There is something special about knowing God knew what mistakes we would make but yet He chose to let us make them because He knew we were only human.  God takes pride in knowing that His children choose to follow Him in the darkest moments.  It is truly an amazing feeling to be cradled in the arms of an Almighty God, the God who created the Universe.  We can go to Him anytime our hearts desire because He made a way for us long before time even existed.     The

every piece of the puzzle doesnt always fit.

There is nothing more frustrating than watching everyone around you get what they want. Watching them gain real world success, or achieving some kind of academic success.  I guess it's true what they say, "every piece of the puzzle doesn't always fit together correctly."  So should one get some super glue and make it fit or buy another puzzle and take one piece and fit it in the old puzzle, or just start on a whole different puzzle entirely? Life does not make sense sometimes, but you can't just stop and go backwards even though it may seem like your going in circles.     People will definitely try to confuse and tell you that whatever it is isn't worth it. But if it means something to YOU, then it is most certainly worth every mile.  Every time I step up to the checkout with a coupon someone says something about getting a job, but I just smile and use them anyway. It doesn't matter what everyone else says just as long as its a part of God's magnific

Keeping a Positive Outlook

There is nothing more depressing than a person who is always negative. It seems so hard to contain a positive outlook on life. Writing is a way for me to relax and reflect on Gods many mercies and wonderful things that He has in store for my future. I try to stay away from Negative Nancy" as they say and surround myself with people who have the same interests as I do.   If at all possible, I would like to encourage others along the way as well. Everyone has their hurdles to jump, no matter how tall they might seem.  Until you have walked in someone else's shoes, do not judge them.    Someone else's battles may seem small to someone from a far distance when in reality the certain difficulty might be a lot strenuous than it seems. That person just may know how to smile through their tears better than just rolling in them all day long.  I know some people that do not look handicap at all because the handicap is not visible to the naked eye but they need the handicap sticker
