Thoughtful Thursday

Isaiah 40(KJV) 40 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. 2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the Lord's hand double for all her sins. 3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: 5 And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. 6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: 7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. 8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God s

Wonderful Wednesday

God had quite a bit of the Scripture written in order to comfort us on our Journeys. This one in particular comes to mind when writing sentiments for my cards. I am really just an amateur so I like to read instructional material. This is one verse that was suggested for comfort. As I read through the leaflet it mentions three things you should not write when sending cards. 1. This sickness is God's will for you. " That's kind of obvious. You should never" tell anyone that their trial was meant" for them. I can understand this. Having certain health issues myself, it could be taken wrongly. 2.Here's why I" think you're sick." I sure do know quite a bit of people who like to give you their two cents on why" you are sick. Maybe something it's youre doing wrong." Maybe it's something you're eating." I can't believe that someone would actually write that " in a card, but... that was number 2 on th

Terrific Tuesday

Matthew 13-3-9 3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; 4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: 5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: 8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. 9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. Pray with us-- Lord, help me to sow on a good ground. Help me to be able to test to see whether it is good and holy or not. I want to be where my light can shine the brightest. In Jesus Sweet Name, Amen.

Motivational Monday

Eclesiastes 7: 13-16 Hope you have had a Wonderful Thanksgiving!! 13 Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked? 14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him. 15 All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness. 16 Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself ? There is alot of wisdom in this particular passage. God warns us not to be mighty in our own eyes because this is vanity. in verse 13, it says , " Who can make that straight?" Have you given that much thought in considering something new? A new goal or new plan? Did you ever ask God what He thought? After all, He knows the outcome. I take time to pray every mor

John 16:1-16 1These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. 2They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. 3And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. 4But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you. The Holy Spirit Promised (Joel 2:28-32; John 14:15-26; Acts 2:1-13; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 19:1-7) 5But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? 6But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. 7Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and o

Psalm 25 (KJV) 25 Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. 2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. 3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. 4 Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. 5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Sometimes it is difficult to wait on God. However, God's timing is absolutely perfect ! He knows when we can handle certain situations. Sometimes it's that we have a rebellious attitude on waiting that God does not answer our prayers. God has a purpose for all of His children. You weren't put here by accident. I hope I can share that message with as many people as possible. Prayer--Thank you for everything that You have given me. Lord, you put me here for a reason. Let me not be ashamed to share your wonderful message of Peace. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Fantastic Friday

John 1 (KJV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. This is one of my favorite Scriptures. There is actually a choir song written about this passage. It was an amazing piece to learn and sing. I still sing it from time to time because it has a catchy melody. It reminds us that God was here from the beginning. He is here NOW and he will eternally be a true living God. I wonder what it was like to have the vision that God gave John that day. It must have been magnificent. We get to read about it later, in the book of John. These first few verses have a special meaning. It reminds us that God is always there for us when we need Him. He just wants to hear our voices. 1.

Terrific Thursday

Titus 3 (KJV) 3 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, 2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. 3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Sometimes I wonder if people even read my blog posts. Then other times I think, what does it matter? This is something God wants me to do so it should not matter. We shouldn't strive to please people. My husband and I went out to eat yesterday and I heard the song that goes something like this," I learned my lesson well. You can't please ever

Psalm 35(KJV) 35 Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. 2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. 3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. 4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. 5 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the Lord chase them. 6 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the Lord persecute them. 7 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul. This Scripture came to mind last night. I was thinking of something to write and the words Plead my cause," came to mind. This Scripture and a prayer for strength. A prayer for help and a shield against the enemy. Sometimes we forget that the battle wasn't ours to begin

Hebrews 1 (KJV) 1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: 4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. “You weren’t an accident. Colossians 4 (KJV) 4 Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven. 2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; 3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: 4 That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. 5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. 6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. This passage of Scripture really highlights the importance of prayer. There are so many that one could refrence but this one actually says to " continue in prayer." Our Country needs prayer. Our President needs prayer. OUr church leaders need prayer. We, servants, need prayer. Everyone needs prayer. No one is exempt from death. However, No one is exempt from God's wonderful mercy either ! God wan

When He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep. And they came to Him and woke Him, saying, "Save us, Lord; we are perishing!" He said to them, "Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?" Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm. The men were amazed, and said, "What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him? " Matthew 8:23-27 The foundation of success in life is good health: that is the substratum fortune; it is also the basis of happiness. A person cannot accumulate a fortune very well when he is sick. P. T. Barnum Lord, help me remember that the anchor still holds and this boat can not sink unless You allow it to do so. In Jesus Sweet Name, Amen.

Thoughtful Thursday

Psalm 13 (KJV) 13 How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? 2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? 3 Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; 4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. 6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me . Sometimes it feels like God has forgotten us. I feel like that quite a bit lately. It's not that God has forgotten us, maybe we" need to do something else." Maybe God has a different, better plan than what we had originally thought. It might be that God wants someone else to see how we handle the struggles that He has give us. Take time to realize that our struggles our for a purpose. I c

Wonderful Wednesday

Isaiah 9:6-12 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. 8 The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel. 9 And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart, 10 The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars. 11 Therefore the Lord shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together; 12 The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour I

I try to do these blog posts in as much real time as possible. Sometimes it may not be possible. I am trying to figure out a good way to schedule my posts on a weekly basis because bloggers scheduled posts won't ccooperate. If you know of any good ones, let me know! Psalm 38King James Version (KJV) 38 O Lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. 2 For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore. 3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. 4 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me. 5 My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness. 6 I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long. 7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh. 8 I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.
