Yard Sale Theory

It amazes me how people can buy something cheap and use some paint or fabric to make it look original.  People may say why not buy the item new, but refurbishing is fun to a lot of people as well.  It also reminds me of how often problems arise that we alone created.  As odd as it may seem, though, there might be someone else that needs to learn or benefit from our heartaches.  There is always a reason for our troubles but we must be strong enough to hold on to the faith that God gave us.  God may have given us the problem just to see if can re create and make it special.  However, we need to make a  change for God and ourselves not other people.  Inward beauty is what matters to God most of all because on the outside we are just clay molded into a person.
For our own sakes, we need to be able to take that old piece of furniture or clothing and turn it into a masterpiece of our own.   Being depressed is what the Devil wants, it is one of his sharper weapons.  Whether we re create the problem physically or mentally, living on the brighter side of life makes like seem a little happier.  Being able to turn our sadness into joy makes the Devil even angrier because He knows that we have strength in the Lord. We need to be able to reflect on how well we are doing in life instead of how old and ugly it can be.
I know that this theory is restated over and over again, but it is so very true.  God wants us to be happy, but it is up to us to want to be happy.  We can not just stay in the same ole rut and expect to get anything out of life.  It is impossible to get anywhere when you are stuck in the mud.  Unless we are able to call for help we can not get unstuck.  There is always a reason for being stuck in the mud, maybe we put ourselves there, or maybe God put us there to be a witness to someone else.  We can look at the situation either way.
Sometimes we are the most probable cause of the situation but sometimes there are situations that arise and we have no control over.  Those are the times that we must go to the Father and ask for help.  We must ask Him for guidance and wisdom to be a blessing to someone else instead feeling sorry for ourselves.  We can always use our condition or situation to be a blessing.  So if there is some trial that you are going through today think of how that detour was meant for you to lift another person's spirit or how you can be a help to someone else with that same problem.  It may even be that the other person was supposed to be a help and friend to you.
Whatever the case may be always try to hold your head up high and remember that something better is coming along the way.  There is no sense in wasting your life moping and sobbing about what could or should have been.  As said before, our way is definitely not God's way so we need to be patient and let Him work His perfect will in our lives.

Terrific Tuesday

2 Peter 1King James Version (KJV) 1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: 2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall n...

Ten Ways I Stay Motivated

1.  Start the day with prayer or meditation. 2. Brew a good cup of coffee. 3.  Go over my list of goals. 4.  Set new goals ones the old ones are accomplished. 5.  Listen to motivational podcasts or youtube videos. 6.  Read biographies of people who have survived cancer or some amazing trauma.  This helps to remind me that no problem is too big for God. 7.  I try to look in the mirror and say affirmations every morning.  Some of these affirmations are the same ones and some are different.  8. Try to keep a good, constant routine. 9.  Write or draw in my journal. 10.  Reward myself for accomplishments.  After all, you deserve it. Hope you have a wonderful week !!

Terrific Thursday

Titus 3 (KJV) 3 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, 2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. 3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Sometimes I wonder if people even read my blog posts. Then other times I think, what does it matter? This is something God wants me to do so it should not matter. We shouldn't strive to please people. My husband and I went out to eat yesterday and I heard the song that goes something like this," I learned my lesson well. You can't please ever...
