Making the Best of Depression

When there is a lot of snow on the ground, it is so easy for the Devil to move in and speak the word " Depression" in your ear.  Being depressed is no fun and there are definitely  so many excuses that you can use in a winter storm.  The Devil will really use your mind as a playground so keep busy.  Clean your house, read a book, learn to crotchet.
Keep your mind moving as best you can if you do not wish to be depressed.  It is very easy to think negatively when you are stuck in the house all day long.  Whether you are by yourself or have a bigger family and going  stir crazy, don't let the Devil have even an inch of your mind. Believe me, He will do His best to put silly thoughts in your mind to get you all out of shape.
Now would be a good time to start some kind of a journal. Journaling is a good way to jot down your positive thoughts. When one keeps a journal, you can look back on a droopy day and remember your most favorite times in life. It's a win, win to keep a journal. I am going to start my own faith journal so when I am depressed I can remind myself of all the good things.
Last but not least, pick up a new hobby. Crafts are a good and safe way to beat boredom.  I have started crocheting as a personal hobby. I do not do it every day, but it is something that I can do by myself  and give the end projects to friends and family as gifts.  They love home made Christmas presents!
So, during this storm, be creative! Don't let the Devil have even an inch to move in your smart and intelligent mind. He will try and use every technique He has to get you to become one of His. Brew a cup of coffee, if that is your thing, and start the day out positive.  It will most likely end up that way as well. Don't give room for the negative thoughts.   There is always something you can do to keep busy. #beblessed

Food For Thought

A journaling topic that Kim Erickson suggests is as following, " Write some things that happened this week that got in the way of your having a joyful day."   Well,  honestly, I could sit down forever and talk about this topic.  It's these kind of affirmations that have really gotten me through the day.  I wish I had known about them when I was younger.  Middle School and High school might have been a little easier.  However, I never really had any bullies attack me then.  At that time, the only real bully was my inner-self.  I stayed positive and always tried to keep my mind on God and things that do not concern this world.  Happy places, quiet places, and dreaming about far off worlds usually kept my mind busy.   That is how it is today as well, but sometimes, having a reminder every now and then doesn't hurt.   Not everyone is going to be your friend, and not every one is going to send positive vibes.  Sometimes you have to do it yourself, you have to wake up thi

for Thursday

s   I have been reviewing products for a while now.  I usually try to pick items that I actually want to use on a day to day basis.  Excitingly, this is one of the recent items I earned in exchange for an honest", unbiased", opinion.  My opinion is that it is "awesome!"     I will use this bag every time I go to the gym to workout.  Of course, my definition of "working out," is not the same as everyone else's definition yet, but I am stepping  higher each time.  Having fancy gym attire is not required, but definitely very, very helpful.    I am sure that people will eventually get tired of hearing about this bag, I am proud to own it.  I would have paid the full amount for this bag.  It has many, many pockets and a place for your water bottle as well.  It not only can be used as a gym bag, but as a travel bag also.  I love the length of the shoulder strap.  The best part about the shoulder strap is the padding they added for extra support.    Thi

Ten Ways I Stay Motivated

1.  Start the day with prayer or meditation. 2. Brew a good cup of coffee. 3.  Go over my list of goals. 4.  Set new goals ones the old ones are accomplished. 5.  Listen to motivational podcasts or youtube videos. 6.  Read biographies of people who have survived cancer or some amazing trauma.  This helps to remind me that no problem is too big for God. 7.  I try to look in the mirror and say affirmations every morning.  Some of these affirmations are the same ones and some are different.  8. Try to keep a good, constant routine. 9.  Write or draw in my journal. 10.  Reward myself for accomplishments.  After all, you deserve it. Hope you have a wonderful week !!
