This plant reminded me of a saying. It goes something" like this.... don't keep watering a dead plant...." I love flowers and I love plants. In this analogy though, it's referring to relationships. Watering old friendships or keep thinking what they're doing or where they are. Is it relevant to the current situation? Is it something that can keep you moving forward or does it keep one foot in the grave? I thought that was a good motivational point. In order to form our own Identity" in Christ, we need to quit focusing on people who will never show up in our lives again. That maybe hard to realize but we should not get stuck thinking about people who will never cross our pathway again. I' not speaking about people who have passed, I'm only talking about friendships and relationships. People we may have gone to school with, people who we may have been dating at one time, etc. WE must encourage ourselves to keep moving forward. Those people aren't coming back so let's quit watering dead plants and keep our eyes toward Jesus.
