Proverbs 3King James Version (KJV)
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: 2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. 3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS Helen H. Lemmel
O soul, are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see? There’s light for a look at the Savior, And life more abundant and free! Refrain: Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace. Through death into life everlasting He passed, and we follow Him there; O’er us sin no more hath dominion— For more than conqu’rors we are! His Word shall not fail you—He promised; Believe Him, and all will be well: Then go to a world that is dying, His perfect salvation to tell!
Today the Scripture that comes to mind is Proverbs chapter three. There is so much violence around and until the Lord returns, it's going to keep getting worse. As I make my morning coffee, I also am reminded of the Scripture that says we should be a sweet savor in God's nostrils. I also keep smelling the cat poop in the corner. I always clean it out before bed, but, you know, they are animals. Pooh stinks in your nostrils and makes your stomach kind of wheezy. I wonder what kind of smell we are sending to God's nostrils today. Are we still looking to God for guidance or are we looking to our own way.
Prayer-- Lord, help me not forget my teaching, but keep your commands in every situation. Help me never let loyalty and faithfulness leave my heart. Help me always turn my eyes in your direction. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
