Terrific Thursday

Titus 3 (KJV)

3 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, 2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. 3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Sometimes I wonder if people even read my blog posts. Then other times I think, what does it matter? This is something God wants me to do so it should not matter. We shouldn't strive to please people. My husband and I went out to eat yesterday and I heard the song that goes something like this," I learned my lesson well. You can't please everyone. So I'll just please myself. " The song is in meter and rhymes so it has been stuck in my mind ever since. It has meaning though.

If we could just learn to be a little more respectful to each other the world would be in a better shape. I have never seen adults act so foolishly against each other. Or, maybe they did, I just didn't realize it. As mentioned in the above Scripture, we should want to walk after that which is kind such as God does toward us. We're not going to be perfect but God has given us mercy by the renewing of the Holy Ghost.

Prayer-- Lord, help me not to worry much about what others think. People are going to have something to say even if I was perfect. People are humans and help me to remember that. Also help me to remember that You have it all under control. In Jesus Sweet Name, Amen

Terrific Tuesday

2 Peter 1King James Version (KJV) 1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: 2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall n...

Fantastic Friday

“To make this as simple as possible, let me say it this way: justification is all about Jesus. Jesus’ work, not our works, saves us. Jesus’ life, not our own life, is our hope. Jesus’ death, not our religious works, is our payment. Jesus alone forgives sin. So, we’re to repent of our sin to Jesus. Jesus alone gives righteousness. So we trust in Jesus for our justification. Our justification is not accomplished in any part by our own work, morality, or religious devotion. Justification is accomplished by Jesus plus nothing, and Jesus plus anything ruins everything.”   Mark Driscoll “Sometimes we’re so focused on our desired blessings that we fail to stop and thank God by remembering the blessings we already have in Christ .” Mark Driscoll    Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 1 John 3:1 Prayer-- Lord, help me realize that the World d...

Ten Ways I Stay Motivated

1.  Start the day with prayer or meditation. 2. Brew a good cup of coffee. 3.  Go over my list of goals. 4.  Set new goals ones the old ones are accomplished. 5.  Listen to motivational podcasts or youtube videos. 6.  Read biographies of people who have survived cancer or some amazing trauma.  This helps to remind me that no problem is too big for God. 7.  I try to look in the mirror and say affirmations every morning.  Some of these affirmations are the same ones and some are different.  8. Try to keep a good, constant routine. 9.  Write or draw in my journal. 10.  Reward myself for accomplishments.  After all, you deserve it. Hope you have a wonderful week !!
