God had quite a bit of the Scripture written in order to comfort us on our Journeys. This one in particular comes to mind when writing sentiments for my cards. I am really just an amateur so I like to read instructional material. This is one verse that was suggested for comfort. As I read through the leaflet it mentions three things you should not write when sending cards.
1. This sickness is God's will for you. " That's kind of obvious. You should never" tell anyone that their trial was meant" for them. I can understand this. Having certain health issues myself, it could be taken wrongly.
2.Here's why I" think you're sick." I sure do know quite a bit of people who like to give you their two cents on why" you are sick. Maybe something it's youre doing wrong." Maybe it's something you're eating." I can't believe that someone would actually write that " in a card, but... that was number 2 on the list.
3. The last one kind of confused me a bit. It says, "God will never give you more than you can handle." To me that is comforting, so I had to really analyze that one. Now, I can see why you wouldn't write that on a card. It makes perfect sense.
Instead, Day Spring suggests these alternatives...
1. I'm praying for you to get past this." It lists Hebrews 7:25 as a good reference.
2. I know you're going through a difficult time and I admire the strength you show."
3. DaySpring suggests only writing Scriptures referring to their situation.
However you decide to write out your cards is completely up to you. I just found this informational as I am writing my blog for Encouragement in living a healthy lifestyle. I hope you receive a Blessing in reading them as much as I do writing them.
