Stuck in a Rut

Did you ever feel like you were stuck? It is very, very, easy to get stuck sometimes.  It is what ya do to get out of that rut.  That is what matters.  My rut lately is reading my Bible.  I get bored easily. However, I haven been doing some journaling lately and that has helped.  I do not know how you feel about drawing in your Bible, but it has helped me stay focused on reading the material inside.  It gives my mind an illustration of the story that was meant to be told.
I used to not be fond of even writing in the margins of my Bible, but in the Facebook journaling groups some ladies have drawn remarkable illustrations in their Bibles.  They have inspired me to do the same in my Bible and it has helped me.  I love my Bible and do not ever want to just put it down and stop reading it.  It took me a while to even understand the Bible so I know how difficult it is to just sit down and read.  I have also tried those audio Bibles and they have helped as well.  However, there is something about illustrating a story that makes it come to life.
It is okay to underline and highlight special Scriptures that mean something to you.  I think God wants us to be respectful in what we mark in our Bibles, but I believe it is okay to make it our own as well. It seems that there are so many rules in Christianity and I can see how someone would not want to go to church, let alone, read the Word of God on their own.  It is important that we personalize our relationship with God in order to grow and prosper.  What we do in church is okay, but it is what we do outside of church that is more important.  I have heard it said many times that our lives are the only Bibles that some will ever read.
So, it is up to us to keep our journey and Christian relationships interesting.  It is up to us to lead others to the Lord, after all, that is the sole reason we are here, to glorify God.  If our relationship with God becomes dull and boring then that is what others will see in us.  They will see that we are sad and depressed, lonely and bewildered.  I understand that life is not always fair but again, it is up to us to make it happy and ineresting.
Bible Journaling has been that internal "light bulb" for me and I hope it will inspire you to want to get out your Bible and read it more each day.  It will only help us if we dig in and read about the Blessings God has in store for us along the way.  So my challenge to you is to do something new and be creative in your Christian life so others will see our happiness and love we have for the Lord.

Terrific Tuesday

2 Peter 1King James Version (KJV) 1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: 2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall n...

Thoughtful Thursday

If God Be For Us 31 What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will he not also give us all things with him? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies; 34 who is to condemn? Is it Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us?[e] 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, “For thy sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from...
