faith, not religion

Too many times we get stuck in our own ruts, thinking that this is pleasing to God.  When, honestly, nothing is worse than being stuck in a certain religious routine.  God does wants us to worship Him in all things we do or say.  There is a song I like to sing called, " You Never Mentioned Him to Me." In this song the writer, James Rowe,  warns us as Christians to always be a witness to our friends and family because if we don't, their blood will be on our hands come judgment day.
Judgment Day will be a day when all our works will be laid out  before God. We will be judged for what we do and obviously don't do while here on Earth. The only thing we can take to Heaven with us is someone else. If we don't listen to the spirit our blessings will surely be given to someone else and that will be no one else's fault but our own.  We might not all be preachers, or singers, or teachers, but we all can pray and always be kind to others as we meet them on their way.
Even though we are not to force someone to come to Christ we are commanded to share salvation.
God may have a simple task in mind for some of us but it might mean a great deal to one who is in need of prayer and uplifting. I said that to say, the Devil will try His best to discourage God's children in anyway that He can.  But what He fails to remember is God has already won the war and and it up to us to praise HIM.  The devil will try everything to stop us but we must keep on testifying and growing in God's grace according to His will.

Terrific Tuesday

2 Peter 1King James Version (KJV) 1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: 2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall n...

Fantastic Friday

“To make this as simple as possible, let me say it this way: justification is all about Jesus. Jesus’ work, not our works, saves us. Jesus’ life, not our own life, is our hope. Jesus’ death, not our religious works, is our payment. Jesus alone forgives sin. So, we’re to repent of our sin to Jesus. Jesus alone gives righteousness. So we trust in Jesus for our justification. Our justification is not accomplished in any part by our own work, morality, or religious devotion. Justification is accomplished by Jesus plus nothing, and Jesus plus anything ruins everything.”   Mark Driscoll “Sometimes we’re so focused on our desired blessings that we fail to stop and thank God by remembering the blessings we already have in Christ .” Mark Driscoll    Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 1 John 3:1 Prayer-- Lord, help me realize that the World d...

Ten Ways I Stay Motivated

1.  Start the day with prayer or meditation. 2. Brew a good cup of coffee. 3.  Go over my list of goals. 4.  Set new goals ones the old ones are accomplished. 5.  Listen to motivational podcasts or youtube videos. 6.  Read biographies of people who have survived cancer or some amazing trauma.  This helps to remind me that no problem is too big for God. 7.  I try to look in the mirror and say affirmations every morning.  Some of these affirmations are the same ones and some are different.  8. Try to keep a good, constant routine. 9.  Write or draw in my journal. 10.  Reward myself for accomplishments.  After all, you deserve it. Hope you have a wonderful week !!
